EASA AML certified technicians – AW139 Helicopters - B1.3, preferably with B2

Would you like to be part of our specialist technical team and help us ensuring the highest standard of safety and airworthiness of AW139 helicopters at our Leonardo Excellent Service Centre Base in Den Helder in the Netherlands?

Are you familiar with current rules and regulations and with writing and updating procedures and manuals in English?

Then you could be our new colleague.

We seek employees who live within driving distance from our base in Den Helder, but work at other bases can also be required. You have a positive attitude and a good sense of humour, you are flexible and loyal, cooperative and motivated by a dynamic environment.

You will be working in a team of helpful colleagues in a professional but also informal environment.

The job includes:

• Repair, upgrades, Line and Base maintenance of our AW139 helicopters.

• Ensuring timely release of work packages for scheduled maintenance of our fleet within stipulated time frame in    accordance with approved procedures and good craftmanship.

Professional qualifications:

• Basic training as an aircraft mechanic with B1.3 and preferably with B2.

Safety Manager (Deputy) & HSE Lead within Helicopter Operations

The Role

As Deputy Safety Manager and HSE Lead, you will report to our CEO and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our Safety Management System (SMS) and leading Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives across our operations. You’ll work closely with the Safety Manager, Management Team, and colleagues to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with aviation and HSE regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Role as Deputy Safety Manager

• Support our Safety Manager in a new implementation and oversight of the Safety Management System (SMS).

• Assists with risk assessments, management of change, occurrence reporting and incident investigations.

• Monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.

• Act as deputy in the absence of our Safety Manager

• Be ready later to take over our Safety Manager position.

Role as HSE Lead:

As HSE Lead your role will be to develop and lead HSE initiatives, meetings, inspections, policies, procedures and programs ensuring alignment with aviation industry standards and local legal regulations.

• Act as the primary point of contact for HSE matters within the organization.

• Lead HSE initiatives, inspections, and compliance efforts.

• Liaise with internal teams, authorities and external stakeholders to ensure HSE compliance.

• Prepare regular reports on HSE performance, KPIs, and trends for management.

• Representing the company in HSE-related forums and regulatory meetings internal and external audits.

• Drive environmental initiatives, including waste reduction, emissions control, and sustainability.

• Lead investigations of HSE incidents, accidents, and near-misses.

• Develop and deliver HSE training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.

Who are you?

Experience and Education:

The Deputy Safety Manager and HSE Lead (Health, Safety, and Environment) play an essential role in supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) and HSE programs.

• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation as a licensed certified aircraft technician or pilot, and a deep understanding of operational safety standards and regulatory compliance.

• Solid knowledge of EASA safety regulations and aviation safety standards.

• Experience with SMS and HSE frameworks and compliance monitoring systems.

• Skilled in Safety investigation techniques and root cause methodologies; Aviation management systems, including Just Culture

• Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

• Data management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Package.
