We are seeking a self-driven, structured and experienced HSE Coordinator to join our aviation safety team in Esbjerg. In this position you will coordinate and lead HSE administration and initiatives across our operations and support our strong safety culture.
Bel Air Aviation is a Danish-based offshore helicopter company with operations in Denmark and the Netherlands and staff of 100 employees. The position is 20 hours per week, and physical presence in Esbjerg is required, as your role is closely connected to the daily operations in the hangars, workshops, and office environments. You will become part of our Care organization and report to our Care & Resources Manager.

Key responsibilities – HSE Coordinator
As HSE Coordinator your role will be to develop and lead HSE initiatives, meetings, inspections, cases, and update policies, procedures, instructions and programs ensuring alignment with aviation industry standards and local legal regulations.
• Coordinate and follow up on workplace assessment (WPA/APV) processes and related action plans.
• Act as the primary point of contact for HSE matters within the organization.
• Liaise with internal departments, authorities and external stakeholders to ensure HSE compliance.
• Work closely with operational teams, and external stakeholders to ensure integrated safety and environmental practices.
• Prepare regular reports on HSE performance, KPIs, and trends for management and customers.
• Provide daily support to managers and employees on occupational health and safety matters.
• Conduct HSE inspections in hangars, workshop areas, and office environments.
• Perform chemical inspections, including storage, labeling, safety datasheets, regulatory compliance.
• Represent our company in HSE-related forums and regulatory meetings and internal and external audits.
Environmental Management
• Oversee environmental management initiatives, including waste reduction, emissions control, chemical management tasks and sustainability efforts and introduce reductions initiatives.
• Ensure environmental impact assessments are conducted where required.
Incident Management
• Lead investigations of HSE observations, incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
• Ensure root cause analysis is performed and corrective/preventive actions are implemented.
• Maintain incident records and report findings to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
Training & Awareness
• Develop and deliver HSE training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns and engagement initiatives.
Who are you?
Experience and Education:
• Experience with HSE frameworks, occupational health and safety preferably from aviation, offshore, or technical environments
• Preferably several years of experience in HSE role.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and coordination skills.
• Independent, structured, and used to taking and having responsibility.
• Thrive in a practical and hands on role within an active operational environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and chemical handling.
• Clear communication skills in Danish and English.
• A positive, flexible, and collaborative approach.
• Data management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Sharepoint.

Job description:
• Flying AW189 helicopters dual-pilot, day/night offshore under IFR and VFR conditions, offshore operations to Oil & Gas installations, Wind Farms and Vessels of various sizes all year round.
• All flights are performed in accordance with the Bel Air Operations Manual. Responsibilities for duties concerning the flight, including procedures, limitations and performance relating to the specific helicopter type, are respected.
• The working routine is set in Company agreed roster patterns. Weekend and/or evening work will be required as necessary.
Qualifications First Officer:
• Current EASA CPL(H)(IR)(MCC)
• 500 hours total flight time
• 100 hours Pilot in command
• Valid EASA Class 1 Medical
